Silo is a very good sci-fi show that has that rarity that is so sadly missing from most other sci-fi series and movies – it is actually very smart! The writing is excellent, it's well directed and the stars are all great in the acting department
Some of the supporting and lower characters could have been better but all in all this was a job well done by the casting department.I do understand why some of the other reviews seem to point out that the show starts great but then goes off on too many "side adventures" unrelated to the main story, that don't get resolved, but I am actually completely fine with that.
I'm sure the show will be back and that they plan to continue and resolve the various storylinesI for one am very eager to see how they tie everything in together when it comes back!
The locations that served as the Higman family store and Norman and Nick’s BBQ restaurant are also real-life family-owned businesses
Tale
Alana Higman, a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan, and her family compete to win the team’s Fan of the Year competition in a process judged by Derrick, the director of fan engagement. Come full happily-ever-after – After this year’s collection of holiday-themed romantic movies you can watch from the comfort of your own home. The film was filmed on location in historic Independence Square in Independence, Missouri, which actually looks like it all year round.
The family even owns a Chiefs store in their hometown
The Square also puts on Christmas lights, just like in the movie. Alana Higman (Hunter King) is a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan. Her parents met as children with their families, who sat next to each other at games.
There’s a magic hat
They are in the Fan of the Year competition. Derrick (Tyler Hynes), the director of fan engagement, does the judging. The most compelling relationship in this movie is the one between Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs.
The corporate world calls it synergy
I was expecting more of the real Kansas City Chiefs. I was expecting a few high-profile players to bump into our pairing. The players should want that too.
I think everyone needs a paycheck
As for the pairing, I’ve always liked Hunter King’s comedic timing, and Tyler Hynes seems perfect, although they could try Niall Cunningham. There are a surprising number of familiar faces in the other roles. This is great Hallmark and maybe more synergy to come.
Rafiki tells the legend of Mufasa to the young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, and lends his signature to Timon and Pumbaa. The flashback story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub who is lost and alone until he meets a friendly lion named Taka, heir to the royal bloodline. The unlikely encounter sets in motion…
CIA operative Joe tries to balance his personal and professional life as the tip of the spear in the agency’s war on terror. Real-life military advisors helped create a more authentic performance of gun handling, house clearing, positioning, squad-based action, etc. Best new show in the world.
Great acting from everyone
After the disappointing 4th season of Jack Ryan and the weak shows all around, this felt like a much better show in every way. It looks really well made and the action/fight scenes look great. I feel like most of the criticism of this show in the comments section seems to come down to how unrealistic it is because of all the camera work, and I, for one, don’t mind a good female-led action show that’s an original IP that doesn’t turn a leading man into a leading woman.
I also haven’t seen any red flags so far like making every man look incompetent or anything like that
Also at first I thought it was going to be more of an action-first nonsense show but then they kind of dove into the family a little bit and I usually cringe at that but I didn’t like what they did there. My only criticism is that the plot of what this particular camera crew is doing is very limiting to the story and could kill it by going past the plot of the season/villain…it needs to be more encompassing so they can eventually make a new, more action-packed Homeland, otherwise it risks becoming too episodic like The Blacklist. PS: So far Nicole Kidman’s role is incredibly small and uneventful and could have been done by anyone else…
We’ll see what the great Morgan Freeman brings to the show
But from what I’ve seen so far, the show can stand on its own with Zaldana without another A-Lister. TLDR Overall Cautiously optimistic, but I like what I’ve seen so far, everything is incredibly polished and well done. It’s entertaining even without being the History Channel show that some commentators seem to prefer.
