No apology needed
His characters are always grounded and he is extremely good at casting. But to be great, you have to write good parts for women. The writing should be as good, if not better, than for men. Boys are simple. Women are smarter, more complex. Beth on Yellowstone (great character and performance), the barrel racers, the lone woman on the ranch (played by the fantastic Jen Landon Teeter) are all great female characters who fit into the world of the story in a natural and relaxed way.

They are strong and confident. Not just a 'partner…' or T & A. He stepped up his game with the big character Faith Hill, who was forced into 1883. followed by Dame Mirre in the kindling that was “1923.” Now Zoe Saldana is doing the best work of her career. I definitely buy him being the boss of the CIA in an open marriage (nice touch). I buy De Oliveira as a broken woman with a burning rage that won’t let go, and thank you, thank you, thank you writers/directors/producers for not letting her get the best of the military man with the extra.
What a face!
Truth first! I think his character is much more interesting if he’s someone who needs to be knocked out cold or just pushed to the ground before he leaves. Now let’s talk about Jill Wagner, should I say her hair? From schmaltzy Hallmark spoofs to super bass specials? I’ll buy it. Special mention: Mrs.
Good actor, could be interesting
Lanier as the obnoxious teenage daughter. I’m looking forward to this loose canon arc as long as they continue to avoid the clichés of teenage angst.
