It is a pure joy to watch this marvel of Colombian cinema. The film adaptation exceeded my expectations and eliminated all fears about potentially disastrous attempts to make a decent film out of such a cold and “unfilmable” novel.
The cinematography is exceptional and shows the beauty of Colombia very vividly
Kudos to the Colombian creators and the Colombian team for a very attentive, careful and delicate adaptation of one of the most beautiful novels ever written! The costumes, the colonial architecture, the interior decoration of the buildings and a carefully chosen musical portrait, an unforgettable atmosphere of Colombian magic in every detail.
